2026 Hainan Island Carnival Launches Month-Long Summer Festival with 50+ Events Across the Island

The 2026 Hainan Island Carnival officially kicked off on July 18, running through August 18, transforming China's tropical island into a month-long festival destination. With the theme "Vibrant Free Trade Port, Charming Hainan Island," the carnival features more than 50 distinctive events across the island, including water sports, music festivals, cultural exhibitions, and culinary experiences. This year's event introduces a new concept of "the whole island as a carnival," breaking away from traditional scenic spot limitations to offer a fully integrated holiday experience.

Highlights include beach music festivals in Sanya and Lingshui, surfing and cycling events in Wanning and Qionghai, rainforest trekking and Li and Miao cultural experiences in the central rainforest region, and a mass chorus carnival finale in Danzhou's Haihua Island.
