39 Facilities Achieve Diamond Level Safety Performance in Chlorine Industry

The Chlorine Institute (CI) has recognized 39 facilities across North America and internationally for achieving its highest safety and environmental performance standard, the Diamond Level designation. These facilities represent diverse sectors within the chlorine industry, including chlor-alkali producers, packagers, sodium hypochlorite manufacturers, and industrial chlorine users.

To earn Diamond Level recognition, facilities must demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to safety by maintaining zero recordable injuries, zero reportable quantity incidents, and zero Risk Management Plan reportable accidents over a five-year period. This achievement reflects a rigorous approach to workplace safety and environmental stewardship in an industry critical to manufacturing, water treatment, and essential chemical production.
