Chinese writer Xuemo's Latin American lecture series addresses the critical need for wisdom and inner illumination as artificial intelligence reshapes human society, bringing his award-winning perspectives on consciousness and meaning to academic institutions across Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Mexico.

Acclaimed Chinese writer Xuemo has embarked on a comprehensive Latin American lecture tour exploring wisdom and transcendence in the age of artificial intelligence. The tour began with an invitation from Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Peru, where Xuemo delivered a keynote address titled "Wisdom and Transcendence in the Age of AI" at the Auditorio Luis Bedoya. The event marked the first anniversary of the Peruvian Chinese Language Institute and was attended by distinguished academic leaders including USIL President Dr. Jorge Talavera, Dean of Humanities Dr. Justo Balmaceda, and Director of the Language Research Center Dr. Rocío Baldárrago.
Following his appearance in Peru, Xuemo traveled to Argentina to join Professor Xintang Sun at the Universidad Nacional de José C. Paz for a lecture titled "Wisdom Beyond the Age of AI." Hosted by UNPAZ President Dr. Darío Kusinsky, the session featured live interpretation by Professor Sun, who serves as Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Magallanes and the Latin American Studies Center at Beijing Language and Culture University. The lecture was part of UNPAZ's "International Week of Science, Art, and Knowledge Production" and was livestreamed on the university's official platform. Xuemo returned to USIL on November 13 to present his new Spanish-language book "The World Is a Reflection of the Mind," published by the Latin American Publishing Group.
The writer's journey continued in Chile with multiple engagements including a lecture at the University of Magallanes on November 18, an appearance at the Santiago International Book Fair on November 22, and a literary dialogue at GAM Bookstore in Santiago on November 24. The tour will culminate with a lecture at El Colegio de México on November 28, followed by Xuemo's participation in the Guadalajara International Book Fair on December 4-5, marking the grand finale of his cross-cultural journey across Latin America.
Xuemo, recipient of both the 2025 New York City Big Book Award and the 2025 International Book Awards, brings significant literary credibility to these discussions. His works have been translated into more than 30 languages and are known for their profound explorations of consciousness, compassion, and the human quest for meaning. The timing of this tour is particularly significant as societies worldwide grapple with the implications of artificial intelligence on human existence and meaning-making.
In a recent appearance on France's MANDARIN TV program "Dialogue in Paris," Xuemo reflected on the enduring resonance of Silk Road civilization and addressed the challenges of modern society. He emphasized that as artificial intelligence reshapes human life, humanity must cultivate a new kind of wisdom to accompany technological advancement. "In an age of turmoil, anxiety, and uncertainty," Xuemo stated, "each of us must illuminate our own heart with love and wisdom. When every individual lights up their inner world, the whole world will shine. Humanity can rekindle the inner lamp of love and wisdom to rediscover confidence and harmony at its core." The Latin American lecture series represents a significant cultural exchange at a critical juncture in technological development. By bringing Eastern philosophical perspectives to Western academic institutions, Xuemo's tour addresses the urgent need for balancing technological progress with spiritual and ethical development. His message of inner illumination and wisdom cultivation offers a counterpoint to purely technological solutions, suggesting that human consciousness and compassion remain essential components of navigating the AI era successfully.
