Advanced Behavioral Health Expands Mental Health Services to Washington County with New Hagerstown Office

Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. (ABH) has opened a new outpatient office in Hagerstown, marking its first entry into Washington County and extending its mental health services to a new region of Maryland. The office, located at 265 Mill Street, Suite 800, began seeing patients on September 1, 2026, according to a company announcement.

The expansion is part of ABH's broader mission to meet clients where they are, said Vera Kurdian, CEO of ABH. With this addition, the organization now serves individuals, youth, and families across six Maryland counties, bringing its established standard of clinical care to Washington County residents. "Serving families and supporting communities one individual at a time is what we do best," Kurdian stated. "This expansion allows us to build a collaborative partnership in Washington County, where families can expect high-quality and timely mental health and psychiatric services. This expansion also provides job opportunities for mental health professionals, from an organization as committed to its employees as it is to its patients."

The new Hagerstown office offers a range of services, including onsite and offsite individual and family therapy, school-based therapy, telehealth counseling, and psychiatric evaluation and medication management. ABH also plans to introduce its Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) to the Hagerstown location once Maryland's PRP moratorium is lifted, expected in 2027, further strengthening the continuum of care available to local residents.

ABH's expansion comes at a time when mental health services are in high demand, particularly in rural and underserved areas. By establishing a presence in Washington County, ABH aims to reduce barriers to access, such as travel time and limited local options. The organization accepts major insurance, Medicaid, and offers a discounted fee program to ensure that no individual is denied care due to inability to pay, subject to eligibility requirements.

The new office also creates employment opportunities for mental health professionals in the region, aligning with ABH's recognition as a Top Workplace in 2024, 2025, and 2026. ABH's commitment to clinical excellence, cultural competency, and expanding access to behavioral health services is evident in this latest move. The organization already operates locations in Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Montgomery, and Prince George's Counties, and now adds Washington County to its footprint.

Patients and referring providers can contact the Hagerstown office at 301.345.1022. For more information about ABH and its services, visit abhmaryland.com.
