American Heart Association CEO Nancy Brown Recognized for 40 Years of Nonprofit Leadership

Nancy Brown, chief executive officer of the American Heart Association, has been named to The NonProfit Times 29th annual Power and Influence Top 50 list, marking the 11th time the publication has recognized her leadership. The honor comes as the Association celebrates Brown's 40 years of service, which began in 1986 in Michigan and culminated in her role as CEO since 2008.

The Power and Influence Top 50 list honors leaders who have distinguished themselves as initiators and innovators. Brown's recognition highlights her ability to build impactful partnerships and unite volunteers, supporters, and staff to advance the Association's mission. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded its global influence in cardiovascular and brain health, accelerated scientific discovery, and launched initiatives such as Nation of Lifesavers and Go Red for Women. Today, the American Heart Association is the largest non-governmental funder of cardiovascular research in the United States.
