Andina Copper Corporation's latest drilling results at its Cobrasco project in Colombia reveal extensive copper-molybdenum mineralization with gold occurrences, indicating potential for a large-scale porphyry deposit.

Andina Copper Reports Significant Mineralization at Cobrasco Project

Andina Copper Corporation has reported outstanding drill intercepts from the second hole of its maiden diamond drilling program at the Cobrasco copper-molybdenum project in Choco, Colombia. Following high-grade intersections in drillhole CDH003, results from subsequent drillhole CDH004 show further intercepts of strong mineralization, including sporadic gold occurrences up to 1.06 g/t that support a possible gold-rich intrusive phase within the broader system.

Drillhole CDH004, completed to 900.25 meters, intersected significant copper-molybdenum mineralization with an average grade of 0.75% Cu over the 579–686 meter interval, including a peak 2-meter assay value of 1.70% Cu. The strongest copper grades are associated with intensely fractured magmatic-hydrothermal breccias interpreted to have developed along contacts between successive porphyry phases. These breccias, comprising fine-grained igneous matrix hosting fragments of earlier porphyries and vein clasts, suggest effective fluid focusing that contributes significantly to the mineralized system.

The upper portion of CDH004 intersected intermediate composition porphyries with anomalous copper and silver values up to 0.39% Cu and 393 ppm Ag. From 56 to 579 meters, the hole intersected multiple phases of early to late-mineral rhyolite, rhyodacite and dacite with felsic affinities, interpreted to reflect rapid magma decompression and emplacement within a flow-dome complex. The final interval from 686 meters to end of hole is characterized by phreatomagmatic breccias that returned comparatively low copper grades, averaging 215 ppm Cu.

Drillhole CDH005, designed to expand the mineralized footprint southwest of previous holes and completed to 934.00 meters, has shown strong copper mineralization with assays pending. The hole targeted an area characterized by high magnetic intrusive sequences at surface transitioning into magnetic low embayment at depth. Unlike earlier holes, CDH005 tested both southern continuity and exploration model assumptions, with stronger mineralization historically associated with felsic intrusive host rocks displaying coincident magnetic lows.

Andina Copper's President and CEO Joseph van den Elsen commented that the wide intercepts of high-grade copper mineralization in CDH004 further validate the size, scale and grade of the Cobrasco system. The company sees potential for a globally significant deposit at Cobrasco and plans mobilization of a second drill rig to expedite rapid exploration and evaluation. Ongoing step-out drilling will seek to systematically expand the footprint of the system, add volume to the copper grade shells and define the lateral extents.

The geological continuity observed throughout the drilling program supports interpretation of a large and long-lived mineralizing system. The company's technical information has been verified by Francisco Montes, a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101 standards. Mineralized intercepts reported for CDH004 applied a 0.2% Cu cut-off and maximum dilution of 20 meters. Additional information about the company's exploration activities is available in their corporate presentation.
