Angkor Resources Identifies Second Major Oil and Gas Drill Target in Cambodia's Block VIII

Angkor Resources Corp. has identified a second major drill target for oil and gas exploration on its Block VIII project in Cambodia through its subsidiary EnerCam Resources Co. Ltd. The discovery comes from the recently completed 2-D seismic program, revealing a second anticline in the Central Bokor Basin area with clear four-way closure and an estimated depth of 900-1200 meters.

Keith Edwards, Technical Manager for EnerCam, described the Central Bokor structure as very similar to the previously identified South Bokor structure, noting potential East West faulting and possibly three separate high points on the overall structure. The current seismic coverage provides confidence in a four-way closure of approximately 60 square kilometers, making it a substantial exploration target comparable to the South Bokor lead's 48-square-kilometer closure.

Delayne Weeks, CEO of Angkor Resources, expressed significant optimism about the dual discoveries, stating that identifying two anticlines with clear drilling targets exceeded initial expectations from the seismic program. The company continues to process and interpret data from the remaining seismic lines across the completed 24-line program, with additional processing ongoing to further refine the geological understanding of the area.

The Block VIII project covers approximately 4270 square kilometers in Cambodia's southwest quadrant after the company removed parks and protected areas while adding 220 square kilometers to the original 7300-square-kilometer license. The company is actively building a comprehensive drilling plan based on the ongoing seismic interpretation, with the new Central Bokor Lead representing a major expansion of the project's exploration potential beyond the initial South Bokor target.

Angkor Resources maintains its commitment to environmental and social projects while pursuing energy solutions, as demonstrated by its carbon capture and gas conservation project in Saskatchewan, Canada. The identification of this second drill target significantly enhances the oil and gas prospects in Cambodia's largely unexplored onshore basins, potentially contributing to the country's energy independence and economic development through domestic resource development.
