Angkor Resources has confirmed a third anticlinal dome structure on its Block VIII oil and gas license in Cambodia, advancing the country's potential to develop its first onshore hydrocarbon resource.

Angkor Resources Corp. has announced results from its North Bokor seismic program confirming a third anticlinal dome structure buried under the flat valley bottom lands within the company's Block VIII boundaries in Cambodia. This discovery follows previous identification of closed anticline structures in both South Bokor and Central Bokor on the same license, with all three areas now representing potential drilling targets for oil and gas exploration in the coming year. The successful identification and development of a commercial hydrocarbon reservoir would establish Cambodia's first onshore hydrocarbon resource, marking a significant milestone for the nation's energy sector.
The North Bokor structure represents another anticline target on the western side of the Block VIII oil and gas license, distinguished by its significantly shallower depth compared to the Central Bokor and South Bokor structures. Seismic data indicates the crest is located between 150-200ms two-way-time below surface, translating to approximately 300-400 meters beneath the valley floor surface. While the North Bokor seismic does not definitively confirm a closed structure, company management expresses confidence that this anticline will prove to be closed based on surrounding physical features of the hills flanking the North Bokor valley floor.
The structural trend follows the general fold pattern established by the South and Central Bokor prospects, as detailed in the company's October 15, 2025 release available at https://angkorresources.com. The South Bokor and Central Bokor sub-basins have already identified significant closed anticline structures with approximately 48 and 60 square kilometers of closure respectively beneath the regionally mapped unconformity surface. Keith Edwards, Technical Manager for EnerCam Resources, emphasized the operational advantages of the North Bokor discovery, noting that the shallow depth of the regional unconformity surface will facilitate easier drilling access to deeper targets in the western half of Block VIII.
This progressive exploration success demonstrates the growing potential of Cambodia's onshore hydrocarbon resources and represents a systematic approach to resource identification that could ultimately lead to the country's first domestic oil and gas production. The identification of multiple viable targets within Block VIII strengthens the geological case for commercial hydrocarbon accumulation and provides multiple options for future drilling campaigns aimed at proving Cambodia's energy potential.
