The AGMT certification program's continued partnership with FHC and recent testing event in California highlights the growing importance of standardized credentials in elevating the glazing trade and ensuring quality across North America.

The Architectural Glass and Metal Technician certification program recently conducted hands-on glazier testing at the South Gate, California campus of Frameless Hardware Company, continuing their partnership that began with testing at FHC's Irving, Texas campus in January. This collaboration represents a significant advancement in professional standards for the glazing industry, with FHC covering 50 percent of testing costs for candidates and providing the venue for the assessments.
AGMT certification serves as North America's only third-party personnel credential for glaziers, providing an independent assessment of fundamental knowledge, skills, and abilities through both written and hands-on evaluations. The program requires glaziers to retest every four years to maintain certification, ensuring ongoing competency and adherence to industry standards. FHC Chief of Marketing Andrew Haring emphasized the program's value, stating his belief in AGMT's mission to elevate the glazing trade through education and training that increases quality and creates standardized benchmarks.
The testing event at FHC's California campus was strategically coordinated to increase exposure and accessibility to the certification program in Southern California. To date, 2,149 glaziers have earned AGMT certification, representing professionals from 41 states and four Canadian provinces. The program has experienced substantial growth, with a 12 percent increase in certifications during the first half of 2025 alone, resulting in 242 newly certified glaziers. This growth trajectory underscores the industry's recognition of the certification's importance.
During the recent California testing event, candidates from several prominent companies including Double Play Glass Co., Glazing Concepts Inc., Hale Glass, and Pacific Coast Glazing participated, with nine individuals successfully earning certification. AGMT Field Operations Manager Jason Simonette expressed gratitude for FHC's ongoing commitment, noting that beyond financial contributions, the company's vocal advocacy for certification value has been meaningful to the program and those working to earn AGMT credentials. The partnership will continue with FHC sponsoring upcoming testing during GlassBuild America in Orlando, Florida, scheduled for November 4-6, 2025.
