Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Opens New Boulder Location with Community Focus

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii opened its newest location on September 18 at 2850 Baseline Road in Boulder, offering handcrafted coffees, branded merchandise, and a food menu with Hawaiian influences. The shop is owned and operated by local entrepreneur Beth Deasy along with Chief Operating Officer Andi Nakata and Chief Experience Officer Stephanie Hooper, who bring previous business experience from Denver-area ventures. The location features two patios, including an upstairs outdoor fireplace, and employs 24 local baristas, many of whom are University of Colorado students.

The opening represents the brand's commitment to community integration, with Deasy emphasizing the creation of a relaxing space for Boulder residents and students. Located steps from campus dorms, the cafe aims to serve as a study and meeting spot while embodying the Hawaiian concept of 'ohana (family). A grand opening celebration on September 20 featured free giveaways, live Hawaiian music, hula performances, and burros from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Beyond coffee, the shop offers a full menu of blended drinks, signature lattes, cold brews, teas, and island-inspired foods. Customers can purchase Hawaiian coffee beans, including 100% Kona, single-serve pods, and flavored varieties, along with branded merchandise to take home. The company encourages guests to join the 'Ohana Rewards loyalty program, which provides $5 off and 89 points after the first purchase as a member.

CEO Scott Snyder highlighted the alignment between Boulder's community values and the brand's Hawaiian roots, noting that both prioritize family and local investment. The Boulder location operates from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, with mobile and delivery options forthcoming. This opening is part of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii's aggressive expansion strategy, which includes plans for a new location in Lakewood's Belmar shopping center during the winter holiday season and numerous additional sites nationwide over the next five years, with territories available for development.
