Baltimore Children & Youth Fund Awards Millions to Grassroots Groups for Youth Development

The Baltimore Children & Youth Fund (BCYF) has made a substantial commitment to the future of Baltimore's youth by awarding over $10 million in grants and providing more than 150 hours of professional development to grassroots organizations. This initiative, announced during BCYF Month, underscores the Fund's dedication to fostering equity, youth leadership, and community engagement. The grants will benefit over 175 organizations, including the Community Accountable Fund (CAF) and Grassroots Fund (GRF) cohorts, which are instrumental in expanding opportunities for young people across the city.

This year's grantees, selected through an intergenerational Community Grant Review process, reflect a deep commitment to meaningful youth engagement and community responsiveness. Notably, nearly half of the reviewers were young people themselves, ensuring that the funding decisions align with the values and needs of Baltimore's youth. Among the recipients are organizations like A Prosperous Tomorrow and Ballet After Dark, Inc., which are recognized for their innovative approaches to youth development and empowerment.

Devin Jackson of A Prosperous Tomorrow highlighted the transformative impact of the BCYF grants, stating that the support enables the organization to expand its reach and empower more youth with high-value skills. Similarly, Michael Rosenband of Requity praised the inclusive and enriching partnership with BCYF, which has provided invaluable opportunities for team members to grow and connect with the broader BCYF-funded cohort.
