BarnPilot Unveils Watcher and Sentinel to Integrate Horse Monitoring into Its Equestrian Command Center

BarnPilot, an emerging equestrian technology platform, is expanding its capabilities with the introduction of the Watcher system and Sentinel program, designed to integrate horse monitoring into its existing command center. The development, led by founder Scott Morvay from Wellington, Florida, addresses a common pain point for horse owners: the fragmentation of information across multiple apps and devices. By bringing camera feeds, health records, schedules, and communication into one platform, BarnPilot aims to provide a more cohesive view of a horse's daily life.

The monitoring experience begins with Camera Focus, a dedicated view for supported fixed barn cameras, allowing owners to check live feeds, monitor status, and review alerts without leaving the platform that holds other horse-related data. Watcher, the ongoing monitoring layer, offers Equine Watcher for horse-specific awareness and Farm Watch for broader visibility of people, vehicles, and packages. Sentinel, on the other hand, is designed for focused monitoring: users can define a specific visible condition, such as a horse lying down or a gate left open, and the system will alert them if the camera detects that condition within a 24-hour session. According to Morvay, "Watcher is the ongoing watch; Sentinel is the focused watch," emphasizing that the system is not intended to make medical judgments but to help owners watch for specific, visible signs.

These monitoring features are integrated into BarnPilot's broader equestrian platform, which already includes horse-centered records, ride tracking, navigation, and communication tools. The platform supports multiple languages and even offers live voice translation to facilitate communication among international barn staff. By embedding monitoring within this larger ecosystem, BarnPilot aims to provide context: when an alert occurs, the owner can quickly access the horse's health history, recent rides, and scheduled vet visits, all in one place.

The choice of Wellington, Florida, as a development hub is strategic, given its status as a major equestrian center with high demands for coordination. The local environment has helped shape BarnPilot's features, including navigational coverage for equestrian destinations and guided onboarding for supported cameras in the area. Morvay notes, "Wellington makes the need visible," highlighting the fragmented technology that many in the industry struggle with.

Currently, BarnPilot works with supported third-party fixed cameras, but Morvay is also developing an equine-specific camera detection model and purpose-built hardware, with a long-term goal of designing monitoring systems specifically for horses. A desktop version is also in the works. These developments are still in progress and not yet available, but they signal BarnPilot's ambition to become a comprehensive infrastructure for equestrian care. As Morvay explains, "The future of horse monitoring is not just another camera on a stall wall. It is a connected system that helps the right person see the right thing, with the horse's wider context close at hand."
