A Boldin survey reveals that financially savvy Americans who conduct year-end planning exhibit high confidence about maintaining or increasing their wealth through retirement, with 99% engaging in annual reviews and 92% reporting increased confidence from regular financial reflection.

Boldin, the financial confidence company, announced results from a survey of over 1,000 financially savvy Americans who manage their own financial plans using the company's platform. The survey examined why individuals engage in year-end financial planning and what others might learn from their habits. Respondents were evenly divided between retirees (51%) and those planning for retirement (49%), with 70% reporting assets between $1 million and $5 million.
Across all wealth levels surveyed, most respondents anticipate having the same or greater financial resources at their longevity compared to today, suggesting their planning approach merits attention. Among both retirees and retirement planners, 99% conduct year-end planning, with a majority reviewing their plans multiple times annually. The survey found that 92% of respondents believe annual or more frequent reflection on their overarching financial goals and progress significantly boosts their confidence.
Nearly 80% of retirement planners complete end-of-year planning activities primarily to increase confidence in their financial strategy, while less than half (43%) cited building more wealth over time as their main motivation. Boldin provides financial planning tools through its Retirement Planning software, which enables users to manage retirement plans independently or with support from coaches and online classes. Users can also access fee-based, personalized advice from CFP® professionals at Boldin Advisors.
The company reports that more than 450,000 people have used Boldin to create financial plans and build confidence for smarter financial decisions. The survey results highlight how systematic, regular financial review correlates with both current confidence and optimistic long-term wealth projections among engaged planners.
