The Community Investment Organization CAHEC has appointed Corine Sheridan to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026. Sheridan brings more than 40 years of experience in affordable housing finance and investment, which is expected to provide valuable insight and strategic guidance as the organization looks toward the future. Her appointment strengthens CAHEC's leadership as it continues to advance its mission of building stronger communities through affordable housing and supportive services.

Sheridan retired in late 2024 following a distinguished career dedicated to expanding access to affordable housing nationwide. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Acquisitions at Berkadia from 2021 to 2024. In this role, she led the Tax Credit Syndication team's nationwide origination and acquisition strategy, overseeing complex transactions and working closely with tax credit investors across the country to support the development and preservation of affordable housing communities.

Prior to joining Berkadia, Sheridan spent nearly two decades at Boston Capital, where she served as Director of Originations from 2003 to 2021. During her tenure, she was responsible for developing and executing the firm's targeted nationwide origination strategy, helping to expand the firm's impact while supporting developers and partners committed to affordable housing. Her leadership played a key role in directing capital to communities with critical housing needs across the United States.

In 2024, Sheridan co-founded Sheridan Consulting, a firm that provides financial and organizational expertise to nonprofits, housing authorities, and other affordable housing practitioners. Through this work, she continues to support mission-driven organizations by offering strategic guidance, operational insight, and deep industry knowledge. Sheridan's continued commitment to the sector is also reflected in her extensive nonprofit leadership. She currently serves on the boards of the Light House Shelter in Annapolis, Maryland, the Anne Arundel County Affordable Housing Coalition, and the Real Estate Committee of True Ground (formerly the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing) in Arlington, Virginia.

Dana Boole, President & CEO of CAHEC, stated, "Corine is a passionate advocate for affordable housing. Her keen understanding of market dynamics, earned respect among peers, and deep-rooted relationships - let alone her dynamic personality - allow her the opportunity to make a strong impact on what is already a highly engaged CAHEC Board." CAHEC is a community development organization that strengthens communities by providing affordable housing and supportive service initiatives to residents in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. CAHEC engages in diverse product areas, including low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, new markets tax credits, and renewable energy credits.
