Centenario Gold Reports High-Grade Copper Mineralization in Underground Sampling at Los Reyes Project

Centenario Gold Corp. (TSXV: CTG) announced the completion of a first-phase exploration program at its Los Reyes Project in Chihuahua, Mexico, revealing high-grade copper mineralization from underground sampling. The program, which included mapping and sampling of old mine dumps and underground workings along the intrusive-limestone contact zone, identified Cu-rich skarn zones with mineralization including chalcopyrite, bornite, malachite, azurite, and chalcocite.

The Los Reyes Project is located 225 km south of Chihuahua City, along Highway 49, near the town of Jimenez. The property consists of two mineral claims: El Rey (36.0 hectares) and El Rey 2 (9.3 hectares). The El Rey claim, where most old mine workings are located, contains the most significant historical mining in the district, operated by ASARCO in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Old government records indicate approximately 200,000 tons of Cu-Zn-Ag material were mined from Los Reyes during that period.

The first-phase exploration included geological reconnaissance, alteration mapping, and collection of 58 rock samples. Samples were taken from surface outcrops, old waste dumps and shallow pits near the Tuesda shaft, and underground at the Tuesda and Jibosa mines. The samples were transported to ALS Chemex in Chihuahua for analysis using Fire Assay for gold and acid digestion for 34 other elements. Results are expected by mid-June.

At El Rey, Cu-rich skarn mineralization occurs sporadically for more than 800 meters along the north-south trending granodiorite-limestone contact. The altered zone on surface ranges up to 120 meters in width. The mineralization exhibits typical skarn zoning, with higher sulfide content presumed to persist further north of the Tuesda Shaft. Fragments of magnetite and skarn with magnetite and specularite found in old mine dumps suggest the presence of Cu-Au skarn-type mineralization.

Once geochemical assay results are received, the company plans to release the data promptly and proceed to the next phase: a 1,500-meter drill program starting in July. The drilling will test strike and down-dip extensions of Cu-rich skarn zones identified by underground sampling, targeting areas near the Jibosa and Tuesda mining shafts.

Derrick Strickland, an independent Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical disclosure in this release. The company cautions that the qualified person has not verified information on adjacent properties or mineralization on geologically similar properties, which may not be indicative of mineralization on the Los Reyes Project.
