Centre for Education and Diplomacy Launched in Avignon by the Office of Count Jonathan of Aquitaine

The Office of Count Jonathan of Aquitaine has officially launched the Centre for Education and Diplomacy in Avignon, France, a nonprofit initiative aimed at fostering global education, intercultural dialogue, and humanitarian diplomacy. This center is a culmination of nearly two decades of efforts since the Republic of Aquitaine was reestablished in 2006, now formalized into a lasting institution that stands as a civil society pillar of the Republic.

Rooted in the Republic of Aquitaine's sovereignty, recognized under the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961, the Centre embodies the principle that sovereignty is expressed through active engagement in education and diplomacy. Count Jonathan of Aquitaine emphasized the importance of these fields in bridging understanding among nations and communities, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

The Centre's mission is structured around three key areas: Educational Advancement, focusing on heritage-based programs and academic partnerships; Diplomatic Engagement, hosting forums and strengthening ties with international organizations; and Humanitarian Service, supporting under-served communities and advocating for peace. Located in Avignon, a city with a rich history of diplomacy, the Centre is poised to become a hub for international cooperation and cultural exchange.

Operating independently and self-funded, the Centre ensures its impartiality and commitment to transparency. Plans are underway to collaborate with universities, think tanks, and NGOs, with a focus on joint initiatives with UN agencies. The Centre's inaugural programs include an International Lecture Series, a Heritage and Sovereignty Publication Initiative, and a Youth Ambassadors Program, reflecting the Republic of Aquitaine's vision for a principled and sovereign role in global civil society.
