Austin Duggan, Founder of Chimera BMX, emphasized the strategic importance of this move, stating that while the company has been proficient in tuning and wiring their own controllers since their 2022 launch, the partnership allows for more efficient scaling. Handlworks brings sophisticated testing and tuning methodologies to the table, ensuring excellent quality control throughout the production process. This collaboration provides Chimera with a better plug-and-play solution as they expand their operations.

Harrison Lu, Founder of Handlworks, highlighted the natural evolution of businesses scaling up, noting that OEMs need trusted industry partners to maintain quality standards and design direction. Handlworks, known for providing performance-enhancing components such as customized controllers, batteries, and motors, supports this partnership with in-house engineering and dyno testing capabilities. Their expertise aligns with Chimera's focus on high-performance electric BMX bikes, which weigh as little as 38lbs and reach speeds up to 40mph with 3HP at the wheel, thanks to their proprietary High-Drive motorization system.
