Code Ninjas is expanding STEM education access in Greensboro by opening a new center that uses video game projects to teach children coding, robotics, and problem-solving skills, preparing them for future technological demands.

Code Ninjas, the nation's largest and fastest-growing kids coding franchise, is opening its newest location in Greensboro, bringing video game-based learning to children ages 5-14. The center will help children learn computer coding, robotics, and other STEM skills through interactive video game projects, providing a fun and safe space to explore technology and problem-solving. To celebrate the grand opening, Code Ninjas of Greensboro will host a community event featuring free workshops, games, giveaways, and prizes.
The Greensboro location is owned by Miles and Ashley Martin, a husband-and-wife team with deep roots in the Triad area. Miles brings more than 20 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity to the operation. The Martins, who are parents to three children, were inspired by their own family to bring Code Ninjas to Greensboro, creating a space where kids can learn coding, robotics, and problem-solving while having fun. They also own the Code Ninjas location in High Point and plan to expand further into Winston-Salem.
Miles Martin emphasized the importance of preparing children for technological changes, stating that AI and other technologies are transforming the way we live and work. Code Ninjas offers a fun, welcoming space where children develop skills like coding, critical thinking, and teamwork. Through hands-on STEM projects and game creation, kids build the confidence and creativity they'll need to thrive in the future workforce. The program is designed to make STEM education both accessible and enjoyable, helping children build practical skills in coding, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
The structured curriculum is modeled after martial arts, guiding students through nine belt levels from white to black. While the program is self-paced, kids are supported by trained instructors called Code Senseis and benefit from collaboration with peers. Small milestones and Belt-Up celebrations keep students motivated along the way. By the end of the program, each child will have created and published their own app, gaining real-world experience and confidence with technology in a fun, supportive setting. Code Ninjas Greensboro offers flexible weeknight drop-in sessions, weekend camps, and Parents Night Out events, providing multiple options for families seeking STEM education opportunities. The center's approach to learning through video game creation represents an innovative method of engaging children in technology education, making complex concepts accessible and enjoyable while preparing them for future career opportunities in growing tech fields.
