Comcast RISE Program to Provide $3 Million in Support to 100 Wasatch Front Small Businesses

Comcast is set to distribute $3 million in support to 100 small businesses across the Wasatch Front region, offering entrepreneurs a comprehensive package designed to bolster local economic development. The Comcast RISE program will provide selected businesses with a robust array of resources intended to address critical challenges faced by small business owners.

The grant packages include multiple components designed to provide holistic support. Recipients will receive a $5,000 monetary grant, a technology makeover featuring computer equipment and internet services, professionally produced 30-second television commercials, and a 180-day media strategy. Additionally, businesses will gain access to 12-month online entrepreneurial courses and receive personalized business coaching sessions.

Eligible small businesses located in Bluffdale, Draper, Herriman, Riverton, Sandy, South Jordan, West Jordan, and White City can apply between May 1 and May 31. This initiative represents part of a broader national effort, with Comcast RISE supporting 14,000 entrepreneurs since its launch in 2020.

J.D. Keller, senior vice president of Comcast's Mountain West Region, emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses as a critical component of economic development. The program aims to provide innovative resources that can help local entrepreneurs navigate challenging business environments and create sustainable growth.

The initiative is part of Comcast's Project UP, a comprehensive program focused on creating digital opportunities and building pathways for future success. By targeting small businesses in specific regions, Comcast demonstrates a commitment to localized economic empowerment and community development.

Previous program participants, like Tenisha Hicks, owner of Isha Recovery and Sculpt, have highlighted the transformative potential of such support. Hicks credited the Comcast RISE program with providing crucial assistance during a period of uncertainty, underscoring the potential long-term impact of targeted business support.

The Wasatch Front program is one of five regional initiatives, with similar grant packages being distributed in Boston, Grand Rapids, Nashville, and Seattle. This multi-city approach reflects a broader strategy of supporting diverse small business ecosystems across the United States.
