Country Artist Hugh Phillips Signs with SSM Nashville Records, Drops New Single 'Bottom of the Bottle'

Country music artist Hugh Phillips has transitioned from the Rocky Mountains to Nashville's competitive music scene, signing with String Kitchen Music/SSM Nashville Records and releasing his latest single, 'Bottom of the Bottle'.

Phillips, known for his distinctive 'Colorado Country' sound, brings a decade of songwriting experience influenced by his mountain upbringing. After successfully releasing his debut single 'Boys That's a Cowgirl' last year, the artist secured a record deal with SSM Nashville Records in late 2024.

The new single, co-written with Nashville songwriter Dustin James, offers a fresh perspective on relationship endings. Instead of a traditional melancholic breakup song, Phillips and James crafted a narrative that transforms heartbreak into an energetic, celebratory experience. The track's opening lyrics, referencing the Carbondale Mountain Fair, demonstrate Phillips' ability to weave personal experiences into his music.

Phillips' musical approach combines multiple instrumental talents with a contemporary country sound that maintains roots in western and bluegrass traditions.
