David Pomeranz Makes Special Guest Appearance at 'Heart & Soul' Concert in Hollywood

Multi-Platinum recording artist and acclaimed songwriter David Pomeranz made a special guest appearance and performance at the "Heart & Soul" concert in Hollywood, an event celebrating Filipino community, culture, music, and fellowship. Produced by Alfred Yumul and directed by Archbishop Marco Frank Ignacio, the community-focused concert brought together more than 16 accomplished professional singers, including Pomeranz, for an evening of music and connection.

Pomeranz, a beloved recording artist known for his longstanding popularity in both the United States and the Philippines, also introduced the audience to a historical documentary exploring a landmark religious-freedom battle that took place 41 years ago in Portland, Oregon. The documentary, "Battle of Portland," tells the story of events surrounding a major legal and religious-freedom dispute in 1985. According to the Church of Scientology, the case represented an important moment in the broader effort to protect the constitutional right of people of all faiths to practice their religion freely.

The story recalls how thousands of people traveled from across the United States and around the world to peacefully protest in support of religious freedom. People from different religious backgrounds joined together in Portland in 1985, demonstrating peacefully for several weeks. The proceedings ultimately resulted in a mistrial, which supporters viewed as an important preservation of constitutional religious protections.

Pomeranz shared the film with the Filipino audience during Saturday evening's event at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood.
