Drug-Free World Mobile Exhibit Highlights Pasadena's National Night Out

The Drug-Free World Mobile Exhibit took center stage at Pasadena's 30th Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Jefferson Park. The event, organized by the Pasadena Police Department with support from the Fire Department and local community partners, drew residents together for an evening of fun and important community messaging.

Visitors to the exhibit explored high-impact audio and visual displays designed to educate about the dangers of drug use. They received free educational booklets from the Truth About Drugs series, covering substances such as alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs, and synthetics. Youth and community members also took the "Drug-Free Pledge," committing to remain drug-free and to set a positive example for others.

National Night Out is an annual event that strengthens community-police partnerships and promotes safety. This year's celebration featured a variety of activities, including games, giveaways, resource booths, and fire engines open for exploration. Attendees had the opportunity to meet helicopter pilots and first responders, and the highlight for many was the mounted officers who rode through on horseback, drawing excitement from children and adults alike.

Police Chief Gene Harris emphasized the importance of the event, stating, "National Night Out celebrates the partnerships that keep Pasadena safe." The presence of the Drug-Free World Mobile Exhibit underscored the community's commitment to drug prevention and education.

The Foundation for a Drug-Free World, which sponsors the exhibit, is a nonprofit international drug education program supported by the Church of Scientology and Scientologists. The organization works toward the humanitarian goal of creating a drug-free, crime-free world where human rights are a reality, as envisioned by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard.
