DTLA ArtNight Expands into Fashion District, Uniting Downtown's Cultural Corridors

DTLA ArtNight, Downtown Los Angeles's monthly celebration of arts, culture, and community, announced its largest expansion to date with the official addition of the Fashion District, beginning Thursday, August 6, 2026. This move connects the Grand Avenue cultural corridor, the Historic Core, and the Fashion District into a single, unified cultural experience, marking a significant step in the organization's mission to activate Downtown and showcase its diversity.

Founded to inspire discovery of Downtown's creativity and energy, DTLA ArtNight has evolved into a platform that brings together neighborhoods through arts and culture. The expansion into the Fashion District is a natural progression, according to Michael Angelo DeLance, President of DTLA ArtNight. "Expanding into the Fashion District is an exciting next step as we continue building one connected Downtown," he said. The district, long known for fashion and design, has recently blossomed into a hub for galleries, artist studios, and creative businesses, making it a fitting addition to the ArtNight experience.

Featured partners in the Fashion District include the Bendix Building, which will host Kelly O'Brien Atelier × Not For Resale LA, CRE8, Mary at The STILE Hotel, and Zenith Gallery. Kelly O'Brien, founder of Kelly O'Brien Atelier, expressed enthusiasm: "Joining DTLA ArtNight is an exciting opportunity to welcome visitors into our working studio and share both the creative process and the finished work." Similarly, CRE8, a four-year-old creative space, sees this as a milestone. "Together, we're helping bring greater awareness, connection, and vibrancy to the neighborhood," they noted.

Mary at The STILE Hotel, located in the historic United Artists Building, is one of the district's newest hospitality destinations. "We look forward to welcoming the DTLA ArtNight community," the hotel stated. Additional Fashion District participants and programming are expected to be announced in the coming days.

The expansion also brings new Grand Avenue programming, including a special classical music collaboration between Grand Performances and The Colburn School at Spiral Court. The program, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on August 6, will feature works by Joseph Bologne, Bach, Reena Esmail, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, and Astor Piazzolla, performed by students and alumni of The Colburn School. Rafael González, President & CEO of Grand Performances, said, "Our partnership with The Colburn School brings a new classical music experience to DTLA ArtNight, showcasing extraordinary music that reflects the diversity of voices in the classical repertoire."

DTLA ArtNight continues its partnerships with major cultural institutions like DATALAND, The Broad, MOCA, and others. DATALAND will present its inaugural exhibition, Machine Dreams: Rainforest, described as the world's first omni-sensory AI art experience. Refik Anadol, Co-Founder and Artistic Director, expressed excitement: "At DATALAND, that dream has now become reality." Visitors will have access to special promotional booking opportunities.

Adding to the sensory experiences, Samy's Camera and Sony Electronics will host a hands-on photography experience at Emergent Gallery from 6:00–9:00 p.m. Participants can borrow Sony cameras and lenses, capture their ArtNight journey, and enter a competition with a $2,000 Grand Prize in Sony gear. "We're excited to partner with Sony to celebrate creativity and our local photography community," said Roui Kamienowicz, COO of Samy's Camera. Sony's Eric Bruehl added, "Partnering with Samy's Camera provides a unique opportunity for photographers to experience Sony's latest technology while celebrating LA's creativity."

The historic Biltmore Los Angeles will host photographer Andrei Duman's exhibition "The Art of X Rays," complete with live jazz and an artist book signing. These activations underscore DTLA ArtNight's role in uniting neighborhoods, businesses, and cultural organizations into one shared experience, reinforcing its position as a vital cultural engine for Los Angeles.
