Exasol CTO Mathias Golombek to Depart After 22 Years; Responsibilities to Be Absorbed by CPO

Exasol AG (ISINDE000A0LR9G9) announced today that Mathias Golombek, Member of the Executive Board and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), will leave the company effective June 30, 2026, at his own request for personal reasons. Golombek’s departure marks the end of a 22-year tenure during which he played a pivotal role in shaping Exasol’s technological development.

Golombek joined Exasol more than two decades ago and served as Head of Research and Development before being appointed to the Executive Board in 2014. As CTO, he defined the company’s technology strategy and drove its innovation capabilities. In a statement, Golombek said, “Over the past 22 years, Exasol has been much more than just a company to me – it has been a defining part of my life. I am grateful to the many people who have accompanied me on this journey and for everything we have built together.” He added that he plans to take a conscious break and spend more time with family, while expressing confidence in Exasol’s future as a shareholder.

As part of Exasol’s ongoing strategic and organizational development, responsibilities within the existing leadership structure will be consolidated. The company does not currently intend to appoint a successor to the CTO position. Instead, Golombek’s responsibilities will be assumed by Alexander Stigsen, Chief Product Officer (CPO), who reports directly to the CEO. Going forward, the Executive Board will consist of CEO Jorg Tewes and CFO Jan-Dirk Henrich.
