Experienced Pediatrician Dr. Erika Pritchett Joins KidzCare Pediatrics in Wilmington

KidzCare Pediatrics announced that Dr. Erika Pritchett, an experienced, board-eligible pediatrician, will join the KidzCare Wilmington office beginning September 17th. Dr. Pritchett will see patients five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., bringing a wealth of experience across both clinical pediatrics and global health leadership.

Dr. Pritchett completed her pediatric residency at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, following the completion of her Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Most recently, she served as Chief Medical Officer for the Baret Scholars Program (International), where she oversaw global health risk systems, coordinated emergency protocols, and supported fellows on six continents. Her background in global health enhances her ability to address diverse patient needs and complex medical situations.

Her addition is especially meaningful for Wilmington families seeking care that reflects the diversity of the community. As a Black physician, Dr. Pritchett's presence strengthens KidzCare's longstanding commitment to providing accessible, family-centered medicine in an environment where every family feels represented and supported. This move addresses the importance of diversity in healthcare, which can improve patient trust, communication, and health outcomes, particularly in underserved or minority communities.

Dr. Pritchett stated, "I greet every child and family with a warm smile and attentive care, providing thoughtful, evidence-based pediatric medicine from birth through young adulthood. I'm excited to relocate to Wilmington and return to a practice setting where I can build continuity of care, support parents at every stage, and watch children grow and thrive." Her clinical interests include supporting parents during the newborn period and guiding adolescents through the emotional and behavioral changes of adolescence, blending current research, clinical expertise, and a compassionate partnership with families.

KidzCare's Wilmington office, located at 1606 Wellington Ave, Suite F, in the Wellington Pointe Health Village, continues serving the children of New Hanover County and surrounding communities.
