Fairest Creature's 2019 Triniceros Named Greatest Napa Cabernet of 21st Century by Robb Report

The 2019 Triniceros Cabernet Sauvignon from Fairest Creature, an ultra-limited Napa Valley wine from a winery founded in 2018 by Jayson Hu, has been named the single greatest Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon of the 21st century by Robb Report. This recognition places the young producer above iconic, legacy wineries that have long dominated Napa Valley's reputation. Robb Report authors Mike DeSimone and Jeff Jenssen wrote in their feature that while Fairest Creature has been producing amazing Napa Cabs for years, this particular blend stands out as the best they have tasted in a long time.

The wine's distinction comes from its unique creation process, involving three separate barrels first produced by legendary winemakers Thomas Rivers Brown, Benoit Touquette, and Philippe Melka, then assembled by superstar blender Michel Rolland. DeSimone and Jenssen described the wine as having heady aromas of blue fruits, cocoa powder, espresso, black raspberry, and graphite with jaw-dropping flavors of ripe red and black fruits, tobacco leaf, and brown baking spices supported by a sturdy backbone of minerality. In unveiling their list of the 50 Greatest Cabernet Sauvignons of the Century so far, the authors noted the depth and enduring appeal of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, with a winemaking history stretching back to 1839.

Reflecting on Fairest Creature's achievement, the authors added that the 2019 Triniceros stood out among a field of iconic bottlings, marking an exceptional outcome for a relatively new Napa project that quickly earned acclaim.
