Farmers & Merchants Bancshares, Inc. has announced the promotion of Barry Luciani to Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Banking Officer, effective April 29, 2025. Luciani, who joined the bank in October 2020 as Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking, has been pivotal in driving the bank's retail strategy and growth. With over 35 years of experience in the banking sector, including senior roles at Susquehanna Bank and Howard Bank, Luciani's expertise is expected to further strengthen the bank's retail operations and customer service initiatives.

Gary A. Harris, President & CEO of Farmers & Merchants Bank, highlighted Luciani's significant contributions to the bank's retail presence in Carroll and Baltimore Counties. In his new role, Luciani will oversee retail banking, marketing, mortgage services, treasury management, and BSA across the bank's eight-branch network, with a focus on improving both digital and in-person customer experiences.
