Fitzroy Minerals announced drilling results at its Buen Retiro Copper Project in Chile, intersecting broad, near-surface copper mineralization that supports the company's goal of commencing production by early 2028.

Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQX: FTZFF, FSE: C3Y) provided an update on drilling at the Buen Retiro Copper Project in Copiapo, Chile, reporting results from 15 drill holes in the Tenorita area that show wide zones of mineralization in leachable material close to surface. The company has four rigs operating at the project and aims to complete the drill-out of Tenorita in August, keeping on track for production in early 2028.
Highlights include drill hole BRT-DDH072, which returned 111.9 meters at 0.97% copper from 21.1 meters depth, including 18.0 meters at 1.59% copper from 84 meters. Drill hole BRT-DDH070 returned 147.7 meters at 0.41% copper from 26.3 meters, including 47.0 meters at 0.88% copper from 113 meters. These results extend the known mineralization across approximately 300 meters east-west in the south-central portion of Tenorita, as shown in cross-section A-A' (see Figure 2).
Merlin Marr-Johnson, President and CEO of Fitzroy, commented that the best hole reported today, drill hole #72, is east of drill hole #70, confirming consistent shallow mineralization across the widest part of the Tenorita area. The company has completed 78 diamond drill holes totaling 13,036 meters since February 2026, with ongoing drilling using three diamond drill rigs and one reverse circulation rig. The drilling program has three key objectives: advancing the Tenorita area to Measured, Indicated, and Inferred resource categories for a Pre-Feasibility Study, defining Inferred resources elsewhere on the property, and testing new exploration targets.
Selected results from drill holes BRT-DDH066 to BRT-DDH080 are provided in Table 1. Drill hole 72 included three notable sub-intervals: 19 meters at 1.50% copper from 32 meters, 18 meters at 1.59% copper from 84 meters, and 18 meters at 1.91% copper from 111 meters. Drill hole 70 included 47 meters at 0.88% copper from 113 meters and 27 meters at 1.20% copper from 133 meters. These results align with previously reported holes, such as drill hole 27 which intersected 133 meters at 0.46% copper from 22 meters (see previous release), and drill hole 58 which returned 75.0 meters at 0.82% copper from 9.0 meters.
The company follows strict quality assurance and quality control procedures, including insertion of blanks, standards, and pulp duplicates representing about 12% of total primary core samples. Certified copper standards from INTEM are used to evaluate accuracy, and no significant issues were identified. The Qualified Person, Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevas (P.Geo., Ph.D., PMP), has reviewed and approved the technical information.
Fitzroy Minerals is focused on copper-focused mineral assets in the Americas, with the Buen Retiro Copper Project near Copiapo, Chile, being the flagship. The company's shares are listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol FTZ and on the OTCQX under FTZFF.
