Funny Women of a Certain Age® Launches Monthly Comedy Residency at Comedy Village

Comedy Village Times Square will debut a new monthly comedy residency featuring 'Funny Women of a Certain Age®', a showcase highlighting experienced comedians challenging stereotypes about women in entertainment. Created by veteran stand-up comedian Carole Montgomery, the show represents a powerful response to ongoing industry barriers faced by women performers.

The monthly residency, beginning May 21st, will feature a rotating lineup of accomplished comedians who have significantly influenced comedy but are often marginalized due to age and gender. Montgomery, with over 40 years of stand-up experience, created the platform to directly confront ageism and sexism in comedy through sharp, unfiltered humor.

Previous performers in the series have included renowned comedians like Fran Drescher, Janeane Garofalo, Caroline Rhea, and Marsha Warfield. These performers represent a generation of comedic talent that has fundamentally shaped modern comedy but continues to face systemic industry challenges.

Comedy Village owner PJ Landers emphasized the importance of the showcase, noting the venue's commitment to diverse voices and authentic storytelling.
