Future Stars Summer Camp Achieves ACA Accreditation, Reinforcing Commitment to Safety and Quality

Future Stars Summer Camp, serving more than 1,500 families across New York for over 45 years, announced it has earned accreditation from the American Camp Association (ACA), achieving recognition as an ACA-Accredited Camp for the 2026 season. ACA accreditation means Future Stars underwent a comprehensive review of up to 290 standards covering all aspects of camp operations, from staff qualifications and training to emergency management and program quality. The accreditation process includes an independent peer review that goes beyond state licensing requirements to evaluate health, safety, and program standards at Future Stars SUNY Purchase.

"Achieving ACA accreditation validates what we've known for decades: families trust us to provide not just an exceptional summer experience, but a safe, nurturing environment where children thrive," said Jordan Snider, COO and Future Stars Purchase Site Director. "This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team and our ongoing commitment to excellence." The American Camp Association is the only independent accrediting organization for camps in the country and collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to establish and maintain industry-recognized standards.

"ACA accreditation means that Future Stars submitted to a thorough review and complied with the highest standards in the industry," said ACA President and CEO Henry DeHart. "State regulation varies widely and, at its best, can only go so far," said DeHart. "Because of this, ACA's accreditation program is a valuable resource that goes beyond regulation to strengthen camp practices related to health and safety." Future Stars maintains an 8:1 camper-to-staff ratio and employs certified teachers and coaches — key factors in meeting ACA's rigorous safety and quality standards. The camp's reputation among families reflects its consistent quality: 96% of parents would recommend Future Stars, and 70% of campers return each year.

Founded in 1980, Future Stars has grown from a small tennis program into one of New York's most comprehensive specialty camp operations, offering 35+ programs ranging from traditional sports like soccer and basketball to STEAM education, circus arts, and horseback riding. The camp operates at premier facilities, with locations that include SUNY Purchase College, SUNY Old Westbury, Farmingdale State College, Southampton, Westhampton-Riverhead, Suffolk Community College, East Hampton, Nassau Community College, Patchogue, and Greenport. New for 2026, Future Stars is also opening its 11th location in Sayville. For more information about Future Stars and summer 2026 enrollment, visit https://fscamps.com.
