The Gateway Summit Málaga 2026 is set to take place on October 1 and 2 at the Málaga Cruise Terminal, positioning itself as a pivotal event for transatlantic innovation and investment. Following a promotional visit to Miami during eMerge Americas in May, where César Caballero, Coordinator of Gateway Summit, highlighted Málaga as an emerging hub, the summit now prepares to welcome attendees from the Americas and beyond. Caballero emphasized the summit's goal: to generate concrete connections between entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, and innovation ecosystems on both sides of the Atlantic.

The summit's airport-inspired concept, featuring spaces like the "Pitching Runway" and "Takeoff Talks," is designed to break away from traditional conference formats. "Gateway Summit is a connecting hub where ideas take flight, capital meets high-impact projects, and connections turn into real opportunities," Caballero explained in an exclusive interview with Hispanic Target Magazine. The agenda includes keynotes, panel discussions, and specialized formats such as the Pitching Runway, where 10 finalist startups will pitch directly to investors. Thematic priorities span artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, healthtech, smart cities, tokenization, and impact investing, among others.

Investment is a central pillar of the summit. A new initiative will bring together around 20 investors to conduct a live, practical masterclass on startup investing, demystifying the evaluation process and decision-making criteria. "We want to remove the randomness from networking and ensure the right decision-makers connect seamlessly," said Caballero. Advanced networking and matchmaking tools will allow participants to schedule key meetings before the event, ensuring productive interactions.

The lineup includes executives from companies like Mastercard, Renault, and Indra, who will discuss connected vehicles and mobility. Sessions on tokenization and digital assets, healthcare innovation with Quirón, and space industry developments with PLD Space are also planned. Metricool will address AI applications, and Markus Gotthard will speak on drones, AI, and energy resilience in global security. Additional representatives from Cisco, Reental, and Bolt will participate in various panels.

Gateway Summit is tailored for startups, scaleups, corporations, venture capital funds, angel investors, family offices, and institutions. For U.S. and Latin American attendees, the summit serves as a concentrated entry point into Spanish and broader European ecosystems. "Investors won't just sit and listen to speeches; they can discover high-potential deals via the Pitching Runway, evaluate curated startups, and arrange targeted one-on-one meetings," Caballero noted. "We want participants to understand how it's done, test it out, and take home actionable insights," Caballero emphasized.
