Hinggan League's Agricultural, Cultural and Tourism Consumption Carnival Opens in Beijing

The Hinggan League Agricultural, Cultural and Tourism Consumption Carnival, themed "Taste the Best of Hinggan Discover the Grasslands in Beijing," recently kicked off in Beijing, drawing buyers, cultural and tourism professionals, and media from across the country. The event showcased a wide array of Hinggan League's distinctive eco-friendly agricultural and livestock products, including beef cattle and rice, which attracted significant attention from market players seeking exchanges and partnerships.

Hinggan League, located in the golden latitude belt for agriculture and animal husbandry, has leveraged its pristine natural ecology, modern agricultural technologies, and full-chain industrial development to promote green development and increase local incomes. The carnival served as a bridge connecting Hinggan League's premium ecological products with markets across China and overseas, highlighting the tangible results of these efforts.

In the beef cattle industry, Hinggan League has made coordinated plans covering the entire value chain, from breeding stock and forage to farming, processing, and branding. The region has introduced national-level cattle breeding technology enterprises and established its first national-level bull breeding station, producing over 5.5 million doses of frozen semen from high-quality breeds like Simmental and Angus annually. These are distributed across China, supported by a tiered extension-agent system and on-site guidance for herders. In forage supply, the Forage Industry Processing, Logistics and Trading Park in Keyouzhong Banner has begun operations, processing crop straw into high-quality forage. Research teams have also developed fermented feed using microbial fermentation technology, reducing daily feeding costs per head of cattle.

At the sales and branding end, Hinggan League's beef cattle industry is transitioning from "selling live cattle" to "selling brands." The region has cultivated large-scale meat processing enterprises, developed over 100 product categories for e-commerce and foodservice channels, and established a livestreaming e-commerce operations center. Marketing centers and forward warehouses have been set up in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and regional public brands such as "Keyouzhong Banner Beef" have been officially launched, forming a complete modern beef cattle industry chain.

The rice industry in Hinggan League also focuses on the full value chain from seed to table. The fragrant, glutinous, and sweet taste of Hinggan League rice comes from its clean water, clean soil, and clean air. Local research teams have worked on rice breeding for over 30 years, independently developing and registering 21 high-quality rice varieties. Farming methods are evolving, with cooperatives in Duerji Town adopting a model of "unified planting, unified processing, and unified sales," while entrepreneurs in Zhalaite Banner introduced integrated fertigation technology using drip irrigation beneath plastic film, enabling rice cultivation on "dry land" and saving 700 cubic meters of water per mu.

The coordinated strategy between cattle and rice industries is evident. The beef cattle breeding and finishing base in Zhalaite Banner has brought in a state-owned enterprise to operate the facility, increasing collective village income. Meanwhile, 38 enterprises authorized to use the "Hinggan League Rice" brand have adopted nine standards, driving the brand value beyond RMB 31 billion.

The carnival underscored Hinggan League's transformation from selling raw grain and live cattle to selling brands and quality. Over a decade of dedicated efforts have turned the grassland's ecological advantages into industrial strengths and resource advantages into greater income for local communities, making "cattle and rice" a solid pillar of prosperity for the people and development across the league.
