Honda celebrates four decades of manufacturing excellence at its Anna Engine Plant in Ohio, highlighting its evolution into a flexible production hub for ICE, hybrid, and future EV models.

Honda commemorates the 40th anniversary of its Anna Engine Plant (AEP) in Ohio, a cornerstone of the company's manufacturing prowess and a pivotal part of the Honda EV Hub. Since its inception in 1985, AEP has grown from a modest facility into the largest Honda auto engine plant globally, with a production tally exceeding 32.5 million engines. The plant's journey reflects Honda's commitment to innovation, having expanded its operations to include the production of internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrid powertrains, and preparations for electric vehicle (EV) components.
The Anna Engine Plant's adaptability is showcased through its production of a wide array of engines, from fuel-efficient hybrids to high-performance models, including the 500 hp 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine for the Acura NSX. With a $2.9 billion investment over the years, AEP has evolved into a 2.8 million square-foot facility, employing 2,900 associates and integrating advanced manufacturing processes like megacasting for EV battery cases.
As part of Honda's broader strategy, AEP is at the forefront of the company's electrification efforts, supporting the production of EV battery cases that will power future Honda and Acura models. This transition underscores Honda's vision for a sustainable automotive future, leveraging its Ohio manufacturing base, which includes five plants and a significant investment in EV technology and infrastructure.
