The 36th Hong Kong Book Fair, with the theme 'Cultural Legacy | Joyful Journeys,' will feature over 600 cultural events and run alongside the Sports and Leisure Expo and World of Snacks from July 15-21, 2026, offering a comprehensive summer cultural and leisure experience.

The 36th Hong Kong Book Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will take place from July 15 to 21, 2026, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, running concurrently with the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and the World of Snacks. The three fairs are expected to gather more than 770 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions, providing a one-stop destination for culture, sports, and leisure.
This year's Book Fair adopts the theme 'Cultural Legacy | Joyful Journeys,' aiming to inspire readers to explore cultural heritage and innovation through reading. The fair will host more than 600 cultural events, both at the venue and across the city. Jenny Koo, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director, stated that the theme encourages readers to delve into the heritage and innovation of traditional culture in modern society and to immerse themselves in cultural and eco-tourism.
As the HKTDC celebrates its 60th anniversary, Chairman Professor Frederick Ma will join Hong Kong artist Jane Lee and over 100 students to create a collaborative artwork depicting Hong Kong's transformation. The 'World of Art & Culture' zone will feature the 'World in Words, A Voyage of the Heart' exhibition, using 'Local Eye' and 'Global Eye' perspectives to connect Hong Kong stories with world literature. The exhibition includes six interactive setups that recommend books and itineraries based on preferences, and showcases over 200 books and items from around the world in collaboration with various consulates.
The Book Fair features eight seminar series, including the Renowned Writers Seminar Series co-organized with Ming Pao and Yazhou Zhoukan, featuring authors such as Liu Zhenyun, Su Tong, Bi Feiyu, Liu Jiakun, and Louis Yu. The English and International Books Seminar Series welcomes overseas authors like British poet Luke Kennard and Joe Ngai, Greater China Chairman of McKinsey & Company. For the first time, the fair introduces the ASEAN Literary Festival, fostering cultural exchange with ASEAN countries, featuring authors Eka Kurniawan and Clarissa Goenawan.
The Sports and Leisure Expo will showcase sports trends through experiential activities, including the 'Fit & Fearless Challenge' by the Hong Kong Playground Association and pickleball apparel from Cyber Smart Limited. The expo also emphasizes leisure and edutainment, with My Mini Zoo exhibiting for the first time, allowing visitors to interact with animals and learn about nature.
The World of Snacks will feature over 1,300 snacks from nearly 30 countries, including local brands like Amore Hand Baked and innovative products like freeze-dried candy from Night Fever Limited. A single ticket provides access to all three events, with adult tickets priced at HK$30. Special discounts include morning admission tickets, special re-entry promotions, and tourist tickets. To celebrate HKTDC's 60th anniversary, a '60 Book Fair Super Passes' giveaway will be held through the HKTDC Facebook page.
