Hong Kong's InnoEX and Electronics Fair Open with Focus on AI, Robotics and Global Innovation

The InnoEX exhibition, jointly organized by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, opened today alongside the HKTDC's Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Under the theme "Innovate . Automate . Elevate," the four-day event gathers global technology experts, enterprises, startups, and buyers to explore collaboration and business opportunities, aligning with the National 15th Five-Year Plan and Hong Kong's innovation and technology development directions. Jenny Koo, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, emphasized the organization's commitment to building world-class business platforms that foster cross-regional, cross-industry, and cross-sector collaboration, highlighting Hong Kong's international and innovation strengths.

This year's events feature over 2,800 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions, with AI+ driven innovations and robotics technology as major highlights. The newly launched "RoboPark" spans both fairs, bringing together technology companies from Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, and overseas to showcase over 100 robots across diverse application scenarios. Four of the world's top five best-selling humanoid robot manufacturers are participating, including AgiBot, Unitree, UBTECH, and EngineAI. Unitree presents the first launch outside the Chinese Mainland for its next-generation quadruped robot dog, Unitree A2, capable of running at up to 5 m/s and climbing to a height of up to 1 m. Hong Kong-based RiceRobotics presents autonomous robots designed for repetitive building and office operations, which are widely adopted by enterprises in Japan such as SoftBank, 7-Eleven Japan, and Mitsui Fudosan.

InnoEX features over 550 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions, with first-time participation from Austria, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, the Philippines, and the United States. The exhibition focuses on five key areas: AI+, Robotics, Low-altitude Economy, PropTech, and RetailTech. The Digital Policy Office presents the "Smart Hong Kong Pavilion" under the theme "AI+ Hong Kong," featuring innovative solutions from over 20 government departments and public organizations. First-time exhibitor Tencent Cloud showcases AI solutions including SuperApp and PalmAI. In robotics, Wildfaces, Lenovo, and Intel jointly present a patented real-time AI fault detection system using drones and WildAI software for anomaly detection in confined or hazardous environments.

Aligning with Hong Kong's vision of developing a competitive low-altitude economy ecosystem, several exhibitors showcase related R&D achievements. China Mobile Hong Kong presents a drone traffic management system, demonstrating an integrated solution for low-altitude logistics delivery and intelligent inspection. InnoEX will, for the first time, co-organize the LAE Development Conference with the Working Group on Developing Low-altitude Economy. Speakers include Bakhtiyar Mukhametkaliyev, the Vice Minister of the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who leads a delegation to participate in the exhibition for the first time. A Low-altitude Economy Zone showcases low-altitude technology applications and promotes industry collaboration.

The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) brings together exhibitors from 15 countries and regions, with Australia, France, Macao, and Thailand participating for the first time. The fair presents innovative technologies and electronic products across three major areas: Smart Home & Solutions, Health Tech & Gadgets, and Pet Intelligence. Some 60 products will be launched for the first time, including the "BG120 Smart Sports Glasses" by Infinite Import & Export and the "Great Wall Dragon Armor" Mini PC series by Hunan Greatwall Computer System Co., Ltd. In the area of Smart Home & Solutions, exhibitors present a wide range of innovative products integrating AI and IoT technologies.

As demand for elderly products continues to rise, the EFSE promotes the "Smart Ageing Products" label to facilitate sourcing by buyers. Zhongyuan Innovation (HK) Limited presents the AI Smart Elderly Care Kit, which includes a smart ring and an ultra-thin AI SOS monitoring band. The "pet economy" has also driven innovation, with Tuya Hong Kong Limited introducing the Aura AI Pet Robot, a generative AI-powered pet companion solution. The EFSE features some 30 thematic zones, including the "Hall of Fame," a "Startup Zone," and an "Immersive Experience Zone" where local I&T companies present interactive experiences using VR, AR, and XR technologies.

More than 100 events will be held over four days across the two fairs, bringing together leading technology companies, industry experts, academics, and buyers to share the latest industry trends. The Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises hosts a thematic seminar titled "Driving Innovation and Industry Development through China's Next Five-Year Roadmap," featuring enterprises that have successfully established operations in Hong Kong, including JD Group, Ant Group, and Pfizer. A new "Go Global Consultation Zone" allows organizations to provide on-site consultation and professional advisory services. These events are part of the Business of Innovation and Technology Week (BIT Week), which returns with a series of major I&T events, further strengthening Hong Kong's position as a regional digital hub and an international I&T centre.
