HWPL World Peace Summit Marks 10 Years of Global Peace Initiatives

The Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) is set to host the 10th Anniversary of its World Peace Summit, marking a significant milestone in global peace efforts. The event, themed 'Creating World Peace Community Through Regional Collaboration', will commemorate a decade of dedication to peace by global leaders and citizens while outlining future strategies for fostering global harmony.

Since its inception in 2014, the HWPL World Peace Summit has been a pivotal platform for addressing critical issues such as conflict resolution, religious harmony, and the implementation of legal instruments for sustainable peace. The inaugural summit in Seoul brought together over a thousand global leaders from approximately 140 countries, representing diverse sectors including politics, religion, women's groups, youth organizations, and media.

The 10th anniversary event aims to review the achievements of the past decade and discuss future plans. HWPL emphasizes the importance of gathering regional talents and establishing networks crucial for developing tailored peace strategies. The summit will focus on strengthening regional networks to address local peace threats and leveraging collective capacities. Under the slogan "Let's have everyone become a messenger of peace," HWPL advocates for individual responsibility in promoting peace at all levels of society. Over the past decade, HWPL and its global partners have committed to addressing a range of global challenges, including military tensions, economic disputes, climate change, and cybersecurity threats. At the 9th Anniversary event in 2023, HWPL Chairman Lee Man-hee emphasized the importance of peace, particularly for young people. He questioned the purpose of politics and stressed that peace cannot be achieved through words alone, calling for concrete actions to prevent the loss of young lives in conflicts.

HWPL's commitment to peace extends beyond the summit. As an international peace NGO, it is registered with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and holds associations with the UN Department of Global Communications (DGC) and Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The organization works in partnership with the International Women's Peace Group (IWPG) and the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) to lead an international peace movement that transcends national, cultural, and ideological boundaries.
