Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth to Host Women's Career Achievement Event

The Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth will host Celebrating Women's Career Achievement, an evening program recognizing the professional journeys, leadership, and cross-cultural experiences of accomplished women executives. The event is designed to inspire emerging leaders and professionals across industries by exploring how women navigate barriers, build influence, and achieve success within both Japanese and American business environments.

The evening will begin with opening remarks from Dr. Hiroki Takeuchi, Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Sun & Star Program on Japan and East Asia at the Southern Methodist University Tower Center. Dr. Takeuchi will provide context on the career path and leadership impact of Sanae Takaichi, a prominent figure in Japanese politics, and examine broader themes surrounding women's advancement in leadership roles.

Following the opening presentation, Dr. Takeuchi will moderate a cross-cultural panel discussion featuring distinguished women executives. Panelists will share personal insights on overcoming professional obstacles, navigating cultural expectations, and rising to leadership positions in global and multicultural workplaces. The discussion will highlight key differences and similarities in workplace culture between Japan and the United States, particularly as they relate to women's career advancement.

Grant Ogata, President of JASDFW, stated that Celebrating Women's Career Achievement reflects the organization's ongoing commitment to education, leadership development, and strengthening mutual understanding between Japan and the United States. By sharing real stories and lived experiences, this program aims to empower the next generation of women leaders.

The event is open to members, non-members and students and includes a light meal and refreshments. It will take place on Thursday, January 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Dallas. Advance registration is required, with registration closing on January 26 at 12:00 p.m. For additional details or to register, visit https://www.jasdfw.org/event/celebrating-womens-career-achievement/.
