Kavalan Distillery Wins Whisky of the Year at 2025 International Whisky Competition

The International Whisky Competition Committee announced Kavalan Distillery's Kavalan Solist Fino Sherry Single Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky as the Whisky of the Year, scoring an impressive 97.04 points. This victory is notable as it represents the first time a non-Scottish distillery has secured the competition's top honor, highlighting Taiwan's rising prominence in the global whisky industry.

The competition, known for its rigorous double-blind tasting process, evaluated whiskies from around the world at two iconic venues in Louisville, Kentucky. Kavalan's achievement underscores the distillery's innovation and dedication to quality, as praised by Mr. Yu-Ting Lee, Chairman of King Car Kavalan, and Max A. Solano, IWC Competition Director.
