Franklin Publishers has announced the release of Recurve by KC Lewis, a science fiction thriller that merges military survival, psychological suspense, and cosmic mystery. Set in a quarantined Houston devastated by a catastrophic First Contact event, the novel follows an amnesiac survivor who awakens alone in an abandoned hospital with no memory of his past. As he joins a group of soldiers and survivors fighting a growing threat, he discovers his connection to a classified experiment known as the Reclamation Project—and to a force that may be altering the boundaries between life, death, and reality.
The protagonist, known only as Teller, Subject Four, or the Fortune Teller, possesses a terrifying ability: death is not the end. Each time he falls, he returns with fragments of knowledge from alternate outcomes, forcing him to relive impossible tragedies while searching for a future where humanity survives. The story begins as a desperate fight against monstrous Ferronines and a mysterious silver substance called Argentum, gradually unfolding into a larger narrative about memory, transformation, grief, faith, sacrifice, and the search for meaning.
According to the announcement, Recurve blends the intensity of military science fiction with emotional depth, asking: "If you were given endless chances to save the people you love, how many times would you be willing to suffer to get it right?" The novel is the opening chapter of the Argentum universe, inspired by a concept born from a recurring nightmare and developed over five years. In his preface, Lewis describes the novel as a story born from grief, perseverance, and imagination, reminding readers that they are not alone.
KC Lewis, a Houston-based writer and consultant, explores resilience, identity, and the intersection of science fiction and philosophy. Recurve is available in ebook, paperback, and hardcover formats. For more information, visit Franklin Publishers.
