Kennedale Welcomes First Dog Park Donated by Ron Sturgeon

Kennedale, Texas, has opened its first dedicated dog park, thanks to a donation from Ron Sturgeon. The Sturgeon Bark Park, located at 6729 Oakcrest Drive East, gives local dog owners a safe and welcoming environment where their pets can exercise, play, and socialize.

The park, which features separate areas for large and small dogs, includes fire hydrants and toys, a water fountain, picnic tables, and a shaded canopy for owners. The project was coordinated by Garret Davis of Davis Commercial Services, who managed the park from concept to completion.

At a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Kennedale City Manager Darrell Hull expressed gratitude, stating, "I am so proud to accept and open our first dog park, and give heartfelt thanks to Mr. Sturgeon, as he gave us this for our citizens to enjoy with their pets, and for his help as we redevelop parts of the city."

As Kennedale's first dog park, Sturgeon Bark Park marks a significant milestone. Residents no longer need to travel outside the city for a dedicated dog-friendly destination. The park also serves as a community hub where neighbors can meet and spend time outdoors together.
