Lahontan Gold's recent drilling at the Santa Fe stockpile shows average grades of 1.96 g/t gold equivalent, indicating potential for economically attractive reprocessing of historic material.

Lahontan Gold Corp. (TSX.V: LG) (OTCQB: LGCXF) has released new assay results from its 2026 Sonic core drilling program at the Santa Fe Mine Project in Nevada, revealing that a historic low-grade stockpile contains material averaging 1.96 g/t gold equivalent (Au Eq). The nine drill holes completed in the stockpile returned 1.64 g/t gold and 36.2 g/t silver, with CN-extractable gold averaging 43% of fire assay values, suggesting the material is amenable to conventional heap leach processing.
The stockpile, situated adjacent to Heap Leach Pad Two, consists of previously mined ore that was set aside during the site's past production. Evaluating this material for potential reprocessing is strategically significant because it could be processed at a lower cost than mining and crushing fresh rock, potentially extending the mine's life and improving project economics.
These results are part of Lahontan's broader effort to advance the Santa Fe Mine towards production. The company plans to update its Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and drill test its satellite West Santa Fe project during 2025. The Santa Fe project already hosts a substantial NI 43-101 compliant resource, including an Indicated Mineral Resource of 1,539,000 oz Au Eq and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 411,000 oz Au Eq, all pit constrained.
The positive stockpile results could have significant implications for the project's feasibility. By utilizing existing material, the company may reduce the environmental footprint and capital expenditure typically associated with new mining operations. This approach aligns with modern mining practices that prioritize sustainability and cost efficiency.
Michael Lindholm, CPG, an Independent Consulting Geologist and Qualified Person under NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical content of this release. He confirmed that the reported grades and ounces are consistent with the Technical Report dated January 24, 2025.
Lahontan Gold holds four top-tier gold and silver exploration properties in the Walker Lane of Nevada, with Santa Fe as its flagship. The project historically produced 359,202 ounces of gold and 702,067 ounces of silver between 1988 and 1995 via open pit mining and heap leach processing.
