MARA Strengthens European Presence with Key Leadership Appointments and Paris Headquarters

MARA Holdings has announced significant steps to expand its European presence through key leadership appointments and the establishment of a regional headquarters in Paris, France. The company has welcomed Gérard Mestrallet as a Senior Advisor and appointed François Garcin as General Manager of Europe, marking a pivotal moment in MARA's international growth strategy.

Fred Thiel, MARA's Chairman and CEO, emphasized the strategic importance of these appointments, stating that Mestrallet's industry experience combined with Garcin's expertise in finance and technology will advance MARA's impact in Europe. The company plans to pursue strategic opportunities through structured joint ventures and global partnerships to power inference at the edge worldwide.

Mestrallet brings decades of experience in the global energy and infrastructure sectors, having served as Chairman and CEO of ENGIE for over 20 years. His extensive background includes serving as Special Envoy appointed by French President Emmanuel Macron for the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor and advising French and European governments on energy and industrial policy. Mestrallet has held board positions with numerous major corporations including Siemens, Saudi Electric Company, and AXA, and is widely recognized for shaping Europe's energy infrastructure over the past three decades.

Garcin, who joined MARA in July, has been instrumental in forming MARA France and MARA Europe, playing a key role in securing the company's recent investment agreement with Exaion. With more than 20 years of experience in finance and technology, Garcin has closed multimillion-dollar deals across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. As founder of Argenthal Holdings, he led high-profile technology investments and transactions with clients including JP Morgan Asset Management and focused primarily on AI/HPC, cybersecurity, and blockchain sectors.

The establishment of the European headquarters in Paris represents MARA's commitment to the European market and positions the company at the heart of Europe's energy ecosystem. This move comes as the convergence of AI and energy presents significant opportunities in the region, with Garcin noting that the new headquarters will serve as the foundation for MARA's next chapter of growth in the evolving energy landscape.
