Mirasol Foundation Achieves Record Charitable Giving and Announces New Leadership

The Mirasol Foundation, Inc. has celebrated a landmark year by distributing more than $720,000 in grants to 49 local nonprofits across Palm Beach County, focusing on critical areas such as family and child crisis support, veterans' aid, food insecurity, and homelessness. This achievement coincides with the appointment of Ed Glassman as the new Foundation President, succeeding Marilyn Wilson, whose leadership saw the organization through significant growth.

Under Wilson's guidance, the Foundation not only met but surpassed its $700,000 fundraising goal, amassing over $760,000 from more than 375 donors. This generosity enabled grants ranging from $10,000 to $40,000, benefiting organizations like the Palm Beach County Food Bank and the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund. Glassman emphasized the community's role in this success, highlighting the Foundation's commitment to transparency and hands-on volunteerism.

The Foundation's Gifts & Grants Committee, now comprising 30 volunteers, played a pivotal role in evaluating 80 proposals to ensure donations made the greatest impact. Beyond financial support, the Foundation has expanded its community service efforts, including food and clothing drives, and the launch of MFI-TV to showcase the real-world effects of contributions.

As the Foundation looks to the future, it continues to strengthen its infrastructure and outreach, with Glassman at the helm, ready to build on the solid foundation laid by Wilson.
