MOSTe's inaugural luncheon fundraiser aims to highlight its 39-year commitment to supporting girls from under-resourced communities through comprehensive academic and leadership programs. The event seeks to generate community investment in expanding educational opportunities for young women across Los Angeles County.

Nonprofit organization MOSTe is set to host its first luncheon fundraiser, 'Empowering Girls and Elevating Futures,' signaling a transformative approach to supporting educational advancement for girls from underserved communities. The event, scheduled for June 7, 2025, at San Antonio Winery, represents a strategic shift from the organization's traditional Lanterns gala and underscores its long-standing commitment to educational equity.
With a 38% increase in scholar enrollment this academic year, MOSTe is serving students across 19 Los Angeles County communities, with a significant focus on supporting young women from low-income backgrounds. Notably, 62.2% of enrolled scholars live below the poverty line, highlighting the critical need for targeted educational support and mentorship.
The organization has recently introduced redesigned academic and leadership programs, including the MOSTe Leadership Academy, College Readiness, and Mentorship & Career Pathways initiatives. These programs provide comprehensive support ranging from academic achievement to community service and career skill development.
Executive Director Nicole Fisher emphasized the transformative potential of targeted mentorship, noting that MOSTe scholars have successfully pursued careers in law, medicine, engineering, and entrepreneurship. The luncheon aims to showcase these success stories and encourage community investment in young women's futures.
Program participants engage in meaningful volunteer experiences with organizations like Heal the Bay and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, complementing their academic and leadership training. By providing workshops on financial literacy, college planning, and career readiness, MOSTe creates a holistic approach to supporting educational and professional development.
The fundraiser represents more than a traditional event; it is a strategic opportunity to expand the organization's impact and provide critical resources for girls who might otherwise lack access to comprehensive educational support. As MOSTe continues to grow, its commitment to empowering young women remains at the forefront of its mission.
