Moxie Award Recognizes 17 DC Area Businesses for Boldness and Innovation

The Moxie Award announced 17 deserving DC area businesses and organizations as 2025 winners Thursday night at the ninth Moxie Award Ceremony & Dinner, a celebration of Boldness in Business. These 2025 winners were honored among nearly 130 finalists for making a difference in the marketplace with their bold initiatives, strategic market moves, and moxie. More than 400 business leaders attended the event, held at The Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner.

Since the Moxie Award began nine years ago, we have reviewed nearly 1,500 award entries and discovered so many of the DC area's most impressive companies. This year has identified another set of companies leading their industries, with our 2025 winners showing some of the strongest moxie we've seen yet, said Moxie Award Co-Chair Sarah Cody. After careful review and evaluation by a panel of third-party judges, this year's 17 winners shined brightest among their competition for demonstrating exemplary resilience, innovation and growth, industry leadership, community service, and local achievements, added Moxie Award Co-Chair Sara Roa.

The 2025 Moxie Award winners span diverse sectors including business services, technology, healthcare, and government contracting. In Business & Professional Services, FlexProfessionals, LLC received recognition, while Preferred Capitol Cleaning, LLC won in Construction & Real Estate. The Consumer Services category honored Revolution Cooking, LLC, and cybersecurity firm Avint, LLC was recognized in its specialized field.

Education sector winner University Startups and financial services firm Ecphora Capital were among the honorees. The government contracting category featured multiple winners across different size classifications, including Krilla Kaleiwahea (K2) for companies with fewer than 50 employees, ViaTrie, LLC for the 50-99 employee range, and OneZero Solutions in the 100-199 employee category.

Larger government contractors also received recognition, with Davis Defense Group winning in the 200-299 employee range and The MIL Corporation taking honors for companies with 300 or more employees. Healthcare winner Trusted Doctors, LLC and nonprofit organizations including Open Goal Project and Veterans on the Rise rounded out the diverse group of honorees.

Technology companies featured prominently among the winners, with software firm Waymap receiving recognition alongside Keep Company in the under 100 employees category and Coforma, LLC in the broader technology sector. Event attendees had an opportunity to meet with hundreds of other executive leaders at the event and share what moxie means to them.
