NeuroEyeCoach Study Demonstrates Significant Benefits for Vision Rehabilitation Patients

A recent study published in Springer May 2025 Experimental Brain Research highlights the effectiveness of NovaVision's NeuroEyeCoach in improving visual search performance and reducing visual disability among patients with vision loss due to stroke or brain injury. The study, a collaboration between the University of Verona, Italy, and NovaVision, compared the outcomes of 95 patients using the therapy at home with 31 patients in a clinic setting, finding no significant differences in the benefits received by either group.

NeuroEyeCoach, designed for both clinic and home use, addresses the varying availability of vision rehabilitation services across Europe and the US. The study's findings support the program's role in facilitating wide access to effective vision rehabilitation, aligning with the growing trend towards digital health solutions at home. Improvements were noted in objective measures such as reduced visual search times and lower error rates, as well as subjective reports of decreased disability, underscoring the program's versatility and efficacy.

The study builds on previous research, including a 296-patient peer-reviewed clinical study published in Cortex, which demonstrated NeuroEyeCoach's strong efficacy, with 87% improvements in search time and 80% of patients making fewer errors. This latest research further cements NeuroEyeCoach's position as a standard of care in saccadic training, offering hope and improved quality of life for patients recovering from visual impairments.
