New Mexico Celebrates Carlsbad's Economic Milestones and Honors Local Businesses

New Mexico Cabinet Secretaries Rob Black and Melanie A. Kenderdine joined the Carlsbad business community to celebrate economic successes and honor long-standing industry contributions at the Carlsbad Department of Development's 2025 Annual Dinner. The event, themed 'Thrive', spotlighted the region's resilience and legacy of innovation, with centennial recognitions for Intrepid Potash, Mosaic, Dunagan Associates, and CENTURY 21 Dunagan Associates.

The CDOD announced its new 2025-2026 Executive Board Officers, including President Susan Crockett and Vice President Ashley Switzer, among others. Awards were presented to businesses like Dunkin Donuts, Blue House Bakery, and Guadalupe Mountain Brewery for their leadership and contributions to the community. The Carlsbad Soil and Water Conservation District received the President's Thrive Award for its dedication to natural resource conservation.

Secretary Kenderdine honored Mosaic and Intrepid Potash with the Community Impact Award, acknowledging their century of contributions to Eddy County and the national significance of the potash industry. CDOD Executive Director Kristen Gamboa emphasized the event's focus on celebrating the deep-rooted commitment of Carlsbad's business community, from legacy industries to emerging entrepreneurs.
