Nova Minerals is progressing toward gold production at its Estelle Project in Alaska while securing Defense Department support for domestic antimony production, a critical mineral currently sourced only from Russia and China.

Christopher Gerteisen, CEO of Nova Minerals Ltd., recently discussed the company's progress toward mining operations at its Estelle Project in Alaska during an interview with Benzinga. The company is advancing both gold production and critical antimony development, with the latter drawing significant interest from the U.S. Department of Defense due to national security concerns.
The Estelle Project encompasses 514 km² of Alaska mining claims containing multiple mining complexes across a 35 km mineralized corridor. The site hosts over 20 advanced gold and antimony prospects, including two already defined multi-million ounce resources and several drill-ready antimony targets. Nova Minerals has defined almost 10 million ounces of gold and is working on a feasibility study to advance production.
"Our objective is to get something out to market sometime next year on the gold side," Gerteisen stated during the Benzinga interview. Beyond the two primary gold projects, the company has identified twenty additional prospects showing gold, copper, silver, and antimony mineralization. The antimony component represents a particularly significant opportunity for the company and has attracted substantial government attention.
Antimony serves critical functions in cleantech, greentech, hightech applications, and munitions production. Currently, no antimony is produced within the United States, with Russia and China serving as the only global producers who have been restricting U.S. access. This supply chain vulnerability has heightened the Defense Department's interest in establishing domestic antimony production capabilities.
"We've been a real first mover in bringing that production back to the U.S.," Gerteisen explained, noting that Nova Minerals is in advanced stages of securing a non-dilutive grant from the Department of Defense to fast-track antimony production. The company's progress toward establishing domestic sources of both gold and this critical mineral represents a significant step in reducing U.S. dependence on foreign suppliers for essential materials.
