Nuestro Studios Begins Production on Bilingual Dark Fantasy Film 'El Clavito'

Nuestro Studios, a division of Nuestro Stories, has announced the commencement of production for their new bilingual dark fantasy short film, 'El Clavito'. The film, which is set to begin shooting in Miami this month, boasts an impressive cast including Ruben Rabasa, known for his work in 'I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson', Vivian Lamolli from 'Say a Little Prayer', and comedy influencer Alexander Arias, also known as Mr. Red.

'El Clavito' tells the haunting tale of a young couple who, amidst a severe housing crisis, manage to purchase a house from a mysterious elderly man for just $1 - but with a strange condition that may come back to haunt them. The film is being co-produced in partnership with CSP Media Group and marks the first in a slate of three planned films by Nuestro Studios.

Manuel Ruiz-Barrera, who adapted the screenplay from a sermon he heard 30 years ago, will direct the film. "This story is an adaptation of a powerful sermon I first heard 30 years ago from my late pastor so I'm extremely honored this great cast and crew are joining me to produce a truly special, awesome story," Ruiz-Barrera stated.

The production of 'El Clavito' showcases a commitment to diversity and representation in the film industry. The cast and crew include talent from various Latino backgrounds, including Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Colombians, Ecuadorians, and features an Afro Latina lead actress. Nuestro Studios collaborated with Chicano Hollywood to source some of the actors for the production, further emphasizing their dedication to promoting Latino talent.

The studio recently launched a successful podcast series titled 'Bistec', and 'El Clavito' is set to be their second major production completed this year.
