Omineca Reports Progress in Placer Gold Recovery at Wingdam Project

Omineca Mining and Metals Ltd. has provided an operational update from its Wingdam underground paleoplacer project in British Columbia's Cariboo Mining District. Following a holiday break, tunneling and placer recovery operations have recommenced at crosscut 3A, with the mining contractor D&L Mining successfully implementing modified grout formulations and spiling patterns to navigate a fault zone at the channel periphery. This technical achievement has allowed operations to return to standard procedures, with D&L anticipating increased tunneling and excavation pace within the more competent compacted sand and gravel of the channel interior.

The operational progress carries significant importance as pay gravels excavated from the initial advance into the channel interior have yielded increasing amounts of placer gold and nuggets compared to earlier bedrock contact zones. This development validates the geological model and suggests the project is entering higher-grade material, which could substantially impact the economic assessment of the operation. Placer gold recoveries will be fully tabulated, subject to quality assurance and quality control by a Qualified Person, and reported as the crosscut progresses through the central main placer gold target toward the opposite side of the channel.

Separate from the underground placer project, approximately 3,500 meters of core from six holes drilled during the 2025 winter drill program has been logged, split, and sent for assay. These results, once received, will inform the design of a follow-up drill program, potentially identifying hard rock sources of the placer gold. The integration of placer recovery with exploration for primary sources represents a comprehensive approach to resource development that could extend the project's lifespan and economic potential.

The technical documentation includes photographs and videos available through the company's website, showing equipment such as the Brokk Electric Demolition Robot fitted with a drum cutter head, the Scooptram mucking gravels, washplant screens and carpets capturing placer gold, and recovered gold on shaker tables. All scientific and technical information in the release has been prepared or approved by independent qualified person Stephen Kocsis, P.Geo., ensuring compliance with National Instrument 43-101 standards. The operational advancements at Wingdam demonstrate progress in overcoming geological challenges while accessing potentially higher-grade material, with implications for both short-term production and long-term resource expansion.
